Prayers for Community

Prayer to St. Benedict for Communities of Families

Dear St. Benedict,

You who founded western monasticism and thereby
saved your society from complete destruction,
come now to our aid as we seek to emulate you
in the founding of a New Monasticism based on
communities of families.

May our efforts, through the grace of God, the
aid of Our Lady Queen of Families, and your
intercession, likewise save our own society
from the consequences of its sins and errors.

And may you, who are so powerful against the
evil one, obtain for us the protection we
need from the enemy who so despises our goals
and intentions.

Amen.



That They May Be One...

Dear Lord, cover us with your Spirit that we may be One. That our thought might be your Thought. O Lord, lead us forth out of the slavery of this world. Free us from all of our attachments to sin. Forgive us for our weakness. Have mercy on us. Dear Lord, bless the work of our hands.

Dear Lord, through the grace of our sacramental Marriages, unite each to his spouse. Let their hearts beat as one, and let them resonate with Your Love. Let that love stream forth to their children. Help them to persevere in the discipline and education of their children. Give them tenderness so that they never bruise a spirit.

Dear Lord, make us poor in Spirit. Help us to put You above all things in our life. Help us to rid our lives of all of those things that hinder us from coming closer to you.

Dear Lord, bring into our lives friends who also love You and are striving to come closer to You. Help us to "encourage each other daily while it is still today." Let all of our deeds, words and thoughts be in charity.

Dear Lord, let our hearts be one with Your Heart. Let this Heart grow and encompass the whole world so that all may know and love you.

We ask this with confidence in the Precious Blood which you shed, particularly from Your Most Sacred Heart and from the wounds in your hands and feet. The victory has been won. It is ours to claim. Thank you, Jesus.
